The River Edge Fire Department attended both Oradell's and River Edge's Fourth of July Parades. There was a great turnout and was a great day of fun for the family.

Tuesday June 10th- 2011

At approximately 1900 hours units were dispatched to Myrtle Avenue for a possible structure fire. Police units on scene reported smoke coming from the house. Upon arrival Chief 1-0 confirmed a structure fire and requested a FAST team from Hackensack and a Ladder from Oradell. Engine 3 stretched 2 lines to the structure to extinguish the fire while the Ladder ventilated the structure. Engine 2 stretched 5" to supply Engine 3. The fire was quickly knocked down and the house was checked for extension. Units were cleared from the scene by approximately 2100 hours.

Tuesday June 7th- 2011

At approximately 1813 hours units were dispatched to Gates Avenue for a reported car into a house. The car was stabilized and the building department was notified. After the building was deemed safe the car was removed. Truck 1 and Rescue 1 cleared debris from the scene. Units were cleared from the scene around 1900 hours.

Members of Company #2 attended the Catskill Fire-Cats Muster in Circleville, NY.  Old Engine #2 won Best in Show.

Wednesday May 4th- 2011

At approximately 2000 hours units were dispatched to the strip mall on the 400 block of Kinderkamack Road for smoke coming from the Extreme Parties store. Upon arrival a second alarm was called in for a working fire. There was heavy fire found in the rear of the store. The roof was vented and the fire was knocked down shortly after 2100 hours. River Edge, Oradell, New Milford, Maywood, and Rochelle Park units were operating on scene. Box 54 from Teaneck was on scene. No one was injured and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Units were cleared up around 2240 hours.

3rd Alarm Fire at Extremem Parties on Kinderkamack Road 05/04/11

Saturday March 26th- 2011

At approximately 0745 hours units were dispatched to the reported car fire with occupants trapped at the Main Street railroad crossing.  Upon arrival it was found that there was no fire but a car had been struck by a passing commuter train.  All River Edge fire and EMS units responded along with Hackensack Rescue.  Engine 3 and Engine 4 stretched precautionary lines while Rescue 1 extricated the 2 occupants.  The occupants were both transported to HUMC.  All units were up and available by 0945.

Friday March 25th- 2011

At approximately 2355 hours Engine 3 and Rescue 1 responded to the 800 block of  Bogert Road for a reported car accident with rollover.  Upon arrival units found one vehicle lying on its side with one occupant who had self-extricated them self.  Rescue 1 stabilized the vehicle.  BLS transported the patient to the hospital.
